For the majority of people, dating is really hard.

Both men and women seem to get really nervous about stupid things that would hardly bother them in real life, such as what they are wearing, how funny/charming/caring they are being, what to eat, what to talk about etc.

Another obscure thing that always seems to worry whoever does the asking is the location of the date. This article highlights the pros and cons of five classic date locations.

Pub/Bar

Pros – The main reason people choose a bar for a date is that there is alcohol available to clear any nerves. Sitting on bar stools or a sofa enjoying a refreshing beverage is genuinely seen as a casual thing to do with no pressure.

Cons – Bars can get noisy and crowded, especially at the weekend. Also, there is the risk of either party drinking too much alcohol and making a fool of themselves.

Restaurant

Pros – There’s little risk of your partner not enjoying eating. Fancy restaurants with really nice food can be a great way to show off your wealth and impress a romantic interest.

Cons – Restaurants aren’t really that fun. There’s a lot of waiting around and sitting down opposite each other. If one of you is not good at talking, then restaurants can be really awkward.

Outside

Pros – A walk in the park, on the beach or trip to some sort of festival is free and gives you limitless opportunities. There’s no restriction to a certain activity and allows for spontaneity.

Cons – You have to rely on the weather being good for this sort of date. It’s also best to avoid this if you’re not great at talking.

Cinema

Pros – Going to see a film gives you something to talk about once it’s over plus it’s not your fault if it’s boring. This is a brilliant choice for those who aren’t very entertaining.

Cons – You can’t talk to your date in fact you can barely see them! Chances are you won’t be able to concentrate on the film because you’ll be too busy worrying about what to say once it’s over.

Out of the ordinary

Pros – Doing something out of the ordinary will make you look like an awesome, fun person. It will set you apart from all of the other boring dates she has been on.

Cons – People choose the previous four options because they are safe. There is no risk of them hating the activity you have chosen. Choosing something out of the ordinary without asking your date creates this risk.

To be honest, all this information shouldn’t really matter. If the two of you get along than romance should blossom no matter where you decide to go. Having said that, it is important to consider these tips in order to give love a helping hand.
